STRUCTURE IN MOTION
Traditional rugs felt distant.
Modern abstraction felt empty.
Relic exists between those tensions.
We studied classical Persian rug architecture
medallions, borders, symmetry, proportion . . Then reduced it to what still holds weight. Not as decoration. As structure.
Matte New Zealand wool forms the base. Viscose is reserved for the motif. Catching light only where the design demands attention.
The creator
Ashvin Gupta is a fourth-generation rug maker from Bhadohi, India. Raised inside factories and dye houses, he founded CultureWeave to rebuild traditional rug architecture through modern proportion, material contrast, and strictly limited monthly production rooted in direct sourcing and structural control.
